Hello from the lazy slug

I guess I’m on a true confession kick. Last week I shared with you that I never bake cookies and today I’m telling you I was one of the laziest people on the planet yesterday. My goodness. Somehow I did get myself out of bed and down to Jazzercise but once I got back I showered, watched the Super Bowl, and read all day long. I did get up and make baked potatoes (Glen barbequed the steak that went with them!) and I talked to my mom on the phone and paid bills on-line but that truly was pretty much it. I did not clean up my closet, organize my dresser drawers or go get my new glasses which are waiting for me now at Sears. I did next to nothing.

Adding to that, Saturday wasn’t much better. I did more – but all of it was in the pursuit of fun! We met Jen and Rod and Rod’s parents, Carol and David, at Wild Ginger in Seattle for lunch. Total yum! We had a really nice visit and a delicious lunch (I had Siam Lettuce Cups which were lettuce leaves you filled with a mix of spicy whitefish) and Jen and Rod treated which made it even nicer. Aren’t we just spoiled? Then from there we headed on down to Pike Street Market where Jen’s jewelry was being featured in one of the shops art show that evening. I had somehow mixed up the time and thought the show started at four but it actually didn’t kick off until six so we didn’t stay but we did get to see some of her wonderful new pieces (those are them in the photo above) and we picked up some yummy piroshkis for dinner that night from the market. In a burst of enthusiasm (madness?) when we got home I did go on-line and book myself into the Seattle Rock n Roll ½ Marathon in June. Ha! I’m not sure what came over me but Jen and Rod had fun at the Phoenix version, I know several friends/family members tackling it and Glen’s hoping to be one of the musicians playing at it so I figured it would be good to register. My overall sentiment at the moment is – I’m registered, now we’ll see. I am certain I will waver back and forth right up to the race day and I know I will be happy – exhausted but happy – if I see it through.

Okay, and one important last thing before I get busy and organize that closet of mine tonight – HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister Lori!!! She’s rockin’ the house making aging and grand parenting look easy. I’m proud of you sis. Hope you’re spending your day getting spoiled at Disneyland.

Now I better get busy before someone gets the slug bait out.
