I get around

Look! — it’s not a picture from my deck for a change! This is the view from my hotel window in San Francisco. Yes, I’m back down in the Bay Area already, this time for work, and I have a fabulous hotel room. I’m staying at the Parc 55 near Union Square — close in, nice accommodations, great view — what is not to like? I tell you, I live a good life.

I’ve been in a conference on social media all day. We’re trying to figure out how we put blogs and facebook and twitter, etc to work at work and I came with a lot of questions. And now I have even more questions. aaaaaaahhhhh! I’m looking for easy answers (like that is new!) and instead the issues keep adding up. But it does make the sessions really interesting. I work at a utility (have I mentioned that?) and I have to say for some reason utility people are really friendly. Maybe it’s because we’re not a competitive field or maybe its just a field that draws nice people but this workshop is no exception. I’m probably one of the quieter ones and that is saying something.

Anyways, this evening Glen has joined me. He flew down today because one of our good friends lost his cherished mother this week and Glen will be attending the service. But tonight, we had one of best times ever in this city. For one thing, the weather is perfect. We walked all over around Union Square, window shopping and people watching. There were people everywhere! But the most fun was that we found a perfect place for dinner — Farmer Browns. The food was ample and tasty, the decor was warm and friendly and our service was really exceptional. What fun. It was southern food so we started with mint juleps. Then we split a panzanella salad, fried chicken dinner and had two desserts! Well really I should say I had bites of Glen’s two desserts. When you go don’t miss the bourbon pecan pie. yowzaa!

Now that we’re back in our room, Glen pronounced it one of his favorite trips ever to San Francisco and I’m thinking he might be right. I’m also thinking he might have said that at the end of every trip we’ve ever made to San Francisco. Come and make your own memories here — start at the Parc and Farmer Brown. Pack happy!
