Anybody else tired?

I don’t know what it is about this week but boy have I had the tireds. I hate that! Works been crazy busy of late but that’s not new and I just had a four day weekend so, in theory, I should be well rested. That leaves me with my usual “villian” — the Dark Days! They come and they zap your energy and say to you late in the afternoon, “you’re sleepy . . . you’re sleepy. . .” Bad, bad Dark Days.

Still, I’m fightin it and some fun things have been a-happenin. For one thing, we got our tree up and it is sooooo marvelous! Don’t ya love how pretty it is? If it had a teacup perched at the top it would look like something straight out of “Whoville!” For another thing, we had a delicious dinner over at my parents place last night of salmon and herbed rice, complete with a visit with my now-back-in-town sister and brother-in-law. And, for still another thing, Glen finished up his job remodeling the neighbors kitchen and it looks sensational. She did it all in a Cape Cod kind of style complete with green glass tiles and green and white marble countertops. Its a “wow” kind of kitchen now for sure. But he no sooner got that done, than he got a call to help with finishing off a house in Mountlake Terrace — which was great. The only bad thing about it at all is that we were supposed to be going out to the Lights at Warm Beach tonight with Ty, Kinga, Savanna and Miranda and we had to pass since Glen had to work late.

Not that late though sadly. Right now he is sitting at the end of the bed, as I work on this, screaming at the TV (actually the ump on the TV who just made a call he didn’t agree with against Oregon State.) Holy smokes is he ever into this game! He’s driving me crazy making me watch instant replays and reporting on his perceived injustices. We have, like, four other working TVs in this house but he has to watch it on this one. ay caramba!

Now, besides being tired, I seem to be in some kind of time denial. Do you all realize we are in December? Is it only me that isn’t fully taking in this fact? Honestly, today one of my friends from work asked when I was going to put up my Advent Calendar and I actually thought that was funny because there was still tons of time, this was way too early. Well, hello!, what kind of Christmas chemical have I been sniffing that has jammed up my brain? Too much eggnog maybe?! I was a little stunned when she pointed out (a little smugly at that) that today was December 3. I mean, I knew it, of course, but I didn’t really register it in the “this means you” kind of way. So, I’m sorry I have to share this with you all but, EXACTLY AND ONLY THREE WEEKS FROM TONIGHT IT IS CHRISTMAS EVE!!! I’m really not meaning to shout — I’m just trying to get it to register with me! Christmas Eve — the very best night of the year when everything is possible and joy is in the air. I love it!

So, its time to get our Christmas on! My tree is up but my house isn’t done so thats the top order of the weekend. Tomorrow night I’m joining a good friend in Seattle to do a little bit of Christmas shopping and watch her daughter’s choir singing in the square there. Then I plan to get my wrapping wrapped up. (Glen’s driving me crazy!!!) There’s a birthday party for my Christmas month nephew on Saturday and I’ve got to get my appetizers planned for a Progressive dinner party with friends the next weekend. And I’m going to fit in viewing a couple of Christmas movies in there too. That, my friends, is another really good weekend in a really good life.

Hopefully I won’t be too tired to do it all! Ho Ho Ho!
