a therapeutic rant

I guess even on a blog called My Happy Life by the Bay not every posting can be about sugar and ponies and rainbows. Be warned! Tonight, I’m ranting:

I am totally thumbs down on all the writing in the corners of TV shows anymore. It might be okay for big screens but ours definitely aren’t big enough. You have the network’s logo along with promotions for other programs – all on the screen the whole time of the show. Totally too much.

I have no tolerance these days for no tolerance. I don’t want to dislike the people in my life – close to me or just in my “range”. I want to find what we have in common and/or what I do like and concentrate on that. I’m finding more and more people with too little tolerance for reasonable differences. I think it might be worse than ever because so many of the reality shows that people like so well really play up the drama and differences. I don’t want to judge people. I want to like all y’all.

And speaking of TV reality type shows, I am really done with all the “judges” on the competition shows. Now I mostly watch food and artsy type shows like Project Runway, Cupcake Wars, Craft Wars, Chopped but puh-leeeeeze — could they possibly be more sanctimonious or mean spirited? Not-to-mention, they all fall into the same exact formula – go for drama. And no matter how good it is you must find something wrong with it. I know the participants agree to be on the show, I just don’t get why this style of judging is the only thing viewers must find entertaining or they would change how it’s done. Thumbs down.

I am going mad crazy over all the different charging cords in our house! This is one of those things where if manufacturers would just agree to a universal charger size life would be so much less cluttered. Instead they all want sales so each makes theirs different. Consequently, each electronic phone, Ipod, Kindle, etc, etc only recognizes its own charger and you have to drag them all along when you travel. Grrrrrrrrr

Okay, that’s my current big four for the moment. Nice. I’m feeling way better getting all that dumped out here. Anything bugging you all that you want to add to the list? Thanks for being my free therapy session!
